We Welcome Your Call!
Dr. Belof completed his undergraduate studies at Clearwater Christian College, then went on to the University of Florida College of Dentistry to attain his DMD degree. As a dental student, he earned awards for Ethics, Practice Management and Equilibration, a form of bite adjustment that involves reshaping the surfaces of the teeth. Dr. Belof served as a teacher’s assistant for CEREC during his senior year, eventually returning as a clinical instructor. He also lectures to local college students about careers and technology in dentistry.
Dr. Belof has completed a variety of courses and seminars to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in dental technology and treatments, including CEREC® one-visit dentistry, full-mouth reconstruction, TMJ treatment and root canal therapy. He has over 5 years of experience with CEREC and has placed hundreds of restorations. His professional memberships include the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the West Coast Dental Association and the Hillsborough County Dental Society.
While planning his private practice, Dr. Belof spent countless hours studying businesses that continually exceed their clients’ expectations. He discovered that the most successful ones have a few things in common: they prioritize customer service, like Ritz-Carlton and BMW; they understand the importance of efficiency, like Southwest Airlines and Ford; and they build their reputation on innovative ideas and thinking outside the box, like IKEA and Williams-Sonoma. Dr. Belof has taken what he’s learned and created a dental office unlike anything you’ve ever experienced, from the architecture to the personalized touch. The difference really is in the details.
Dr. Belof met his wife, Elizabeth, when they were lab partners in college. They were married, and soon afterwards took part in a dental missions trip to Honduras to provide free dentistry to rural areas and young orphans. In 2007, they welcomed a daughter, Elena Maria, their pride and joy. The Belofs live in Riverview with their three dogs, all of which they consider family. In his free time, Dr. Belof enjoys boating, traveling, biking, and is also a pilot. He looks forward to getting to know you and your family.
Amy Gane is an amazing part of our team. She is highly detail-oriented and loves what she does. What does that mean for patients? Your teeth are about to get brilliantly clean. Originally from Bemus Point, New York, Amy moved to Florida to try something different. In 2003, Amy began work as an assistant at a dental office. Her manager realized her potential and recommended she pursue a career in dental hygiene. Soon after, Amy was enrolled and dedicated. She earned her Associate of Science in Dental Hygiene and quickly became a valued member of our crew. Amy's friendly personality has been fantastic with patients who sincerely appreciate the job she does for them. When asked why she wanted to work in hygiene, Amy says, "When I was younger my Dad needed dental care. I saw him go through a lot of pain and needless extractions. I told myself, 'One day I am going to help someone like you'. And now, working at South Bay Dentistry, I can."
Sorry guys, this one’s taken! Amy is proudly engaged to her Colombian "Dreamboat", Alex. Look for stunning wedding photos soon.
What can I say, the dentist that I saw was exceptional. He was actually concerned about me as a person and my needs. He took great pains to see to it that my visit was as painless as possible. Overall the whole experience was great! You should try it! You should find more dentists like Dr. Belof!

Dear Dr. Joshua Belof, Amy & Elizabeth,
WOW, WOW, WOW! Thank you all so much for your service. What a pleasure to come to the dentist and know my teeth are in the BEST HANDS! I loved the office and all the personal treatment – not to mention the coffee bar, internet, hot towels, and TV! I will tell my friends and family.
Thank you thank you,
Thank you very much for your excellent work on my fillings. Your staff was very friendly and helpful. Your fees were very reasonable and your office was a treat to visit. It may sound weird, but the comfy couch in your waiting room alone made me want to come back! Hopefully I will not need any more major work done, but I do look forward to visiting your office again in the future.
